Acentrella turbida nymphs are found in wide variety of bottom types with varying current conditions. Turbida produce multiple broods during the season. Once hatching begins for the season they can be found on the water on any given day. Acentrella turbida duns have no hind wing making them easy to distinguish from Baetis. Important to the fly fisher is the size and color of the imitation presented. Acentrella turbida size range from 22 to 26, their colors range from dark olive, gray olive, to light olive, with wing colors from dark, to very light dun. Once again being well prepared with a wide variaty of sizes and colors is a must for the angler. Even then close inspection of the naturals floating on the rivers surface is a must, especially with insects this small, with such varying colors.

These small, but important mayflies prefer hatching in the evening, or may be found on the water all day during cooler cloudy, or rainy days.
